Rick and his wife, Tammy, were married in 1976. They have two wonderful daughters, both married and living in Edmonton.
He received his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan, moved to Yorkton in 1978 to article, and remained with this firm for his entire professional career. He was involved in most areas of the law, including criminal and civil litigation, but gave up family law early into the new century. Rick retired from the practice of law in 2019.
Rick has been an active volunteer in the community and the profession, as a Lion and Mason, as a board member on several non-profit corporations, as a canvasser for health charities, as past-President of the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyer’s Association, and most recently, Chairman of Yorkton Habitat for Humanity.
In his younger days, Rick enjoyed playing hockey, slow pitch, curling and golf, liked beer and had a sense of humor. He still golfs and likes beer.
